"One anchor, five correspondents, zero credibility. If you're tired of the stodginess of the evening newscasts, if you can't bear to sit through the spinmeisters and shills on the 24-hour cable news networks, don't miss The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, a nightly half-hour series unburdened by objectivity, journalistic integrity or even accuracy"

"Ask questions that people care about the answers."
"Ask a question the way you get the right answer."
We are well aware of the bias that Penn and Teller bring to their show "Bull Shit," however, they did not make this stuff up. They are simply saying that polls are designed to get specific answers, and there are in fact right answers and wrong answers.

Ethical Issues in Journalism and the Media
Promoting ethical conduct in journalism and writing specifically about how journalism can “protect and promote truth, freedom and democracy,” is what authors Belsey and Chadwick endeavor to write about. Moreover, They cover multiple topics that are interdependent and show that the foundation of good journalism relies on the truth. “Journalism denies its own claim to truth when it forestalls rational arguments through strategies that undermine the legitimacy of relevant disputants” (128). These authors also tie in objectivity and bias in this chapter.
Target Audience
Our target audience will be college students who are interested in uncovering the truth in their own world, and any other person for that matter who is interested in knowing what’s really going on in their world. Another targeted audience will be any HCOM students more specifically anyone in our class. We find that this is the audience we are most interested in reaching because they have a vested interest in our topic, just as much as we do with their respective topics. This also something that we believe everyone in America should look into because a lot of people these days believe everything they see in the newspaper and hear in the news and this makes it easier for media outlets to get lazy when it comes to checking their facts.
Why a blog?
We’ll be creating a blog because we believe this will be the most effective way in reaching our audience. We believe this will be the best way to reach our audience because we will be presenting a topic which is dense with information and a blog would be the best way to present this. If we used a video blog or a podcast they would be too long and boring therefore our message would be lost because the readers would lose interest in the topic and wouldn’t hear/see all of the information. A blog allows a person to skim through themselves and they can at least look at all of the information and concentrate on what’s important to them. Not only are blogs easily accessible, they also in fact allow for participation between the reader and the writer. We also feel that since blogs are entirely transparent, we can show that we make mistakes and that we will correct them and at the same time allow our audience to see that we did make a mistake and that we did correct it.
